Milky Way Galaxy,
My science teacher said it would be cool if i could stock her 55 gallon with one RBP (as i know they get to 12"). I dont think i could put more then one, correct? so any luck with solo RBP? ive heard people do it before just making sure. Will he still eat prop. and all that? He will be a lil fella when i get him so could i feed him 4 times a day, 1 in the mourning (8:00am), 2nd (9:50am), 3rd (12:40pm), 4th (3:15pm) on bloodworms. Then how do i get him on other foods? I would do waterchanges monday and friday. Also we have mice in the class and breed alot. So insted of let them go (i know thats bad what she does) can we feed them to the RBP as a treat? Humainly though, maybe freez them? idk anyway without hurting them. Anything else i should do/know?

Lone Wolf RBP:headbang2 sounds pretty awesome.

I think it would not be as happy as it would be in a school, but yeah it could work. Just I wouldn't do it.
Would it still be healthy? i could ask the teacher to upgrade later and add some RBP later on.

it would be perfectly fine, i kept mine solo for a long time now and it's doing perfectly well, in fact even better then my shoal of smaller ones. however, i dont think u should add more piranha later on if u raise it solo. it will either attack the other piranhas or die of stress.

okay thankyou:) just need help on the feeding questions now and my feeding schedule and wc schedule

my question is why limit yourself to a red belly piranha? you guys have many other choices that are suitable in a 55 gallon that would be happier solo.

i'm not at all saying don't do it and i think a red belly would be perfectly fine, just curious if you've considered other types of piranhas?

your water change schedule is fine, all my red bellies have readily taken everything from bloodworm, ghost shrimp, pellets, fillete fish, market shrimp, cricket, earth worm etc etc. there was no trick needed, just place in water and scoop out left over or what they didn't eat.

Mostly cause it's "popular" type and peole are saying no way you can and it's going to eat off your hand when you clean the tank mostly to prove people wrong and spesh when I put my hand in the tank when it's fully grown. Trying to prove there misunderstood.
