Cool always good to get a good chuckle - perhaps I was a lil' overzealous. I'm pretty sure your Princ. didn't charge a minor to feed and care for the Boa and probably didn't feed him cute lil' bunnies and hamsters during assemblies but then again in Oregon anythings possible. Here on the North East Coast PPL are a lot less forgiving and you can't walk a block without seeing a lawyer, schools are locked down, metal detectors, cops, security guards, saftey of the students is serious business.

Best to err on the side of caution in public schools, times have changed drasticly. Piranha are already feared, perseved as man-eaters, illegal in many states, and capable of inflicting wounds on careless people. I won't support any action that could further spread this hysteria.

not that you'd view it any better but it was actually in Washington state. i'm positive you couldn't get away with having that large of s snake in the classrooms today. Sure gave us confidence and shook alot of the fear from some people though.

Agreed, we don't need anymore mass hysteria

op, i wouldn't recommend a rhom, it will eventually outgrow the tank and i doubt you'll be around 5 years from now to upgrade the tank or sell it. you'd probably want something that can be in said tank for life. def no pirayas or caribas.

Why do everyone keeps posting that piranhas bite?

I have 2 12in RBP, and never have I been even close to getting bitten.

And Im twice a week shoulder deep in my tank with them.

The only bites come from my oscar.

Piranhas are only dangerous to small fish and death animals.

Actually to all we might just be getting a 100G+ so we don't have to have a Lone Wolf were just putting some glass catfish in the 50g, 40g angelfish and fancy guppies, 30g Male convict and female blood parrot (maybe a KBP but idk min tank size for them)

must all be fake. i no longer have any fear doing maintenance in my tanks with my piranhas (wouldn't stick my hand in other people's tanks) but i'm not ignorant enough to ignore the fact that people have been bitten by piranhas, some in the home aquarium

amen ballin amin i have been bitten when i was 13 by my first piranha but have no fear of them as it was my own stupididty that got me bit. to the op i think your on the right track trying to educate your classmates on piranhas but so every body is safe the only time i wuld be putting mt hand in the tank is to clean it not to show off or dispruve any myth of them being man eaters as it culd be bad if some body does get bit. wish i was able to do somthing like this as a kid but we only got guppys and they were feeders not fancys. but for your 100 gal i wuld stock it with mabe 6 rbp and that will give your class mates a closer look at shoal activitys.
