I have seen a few people with pics of lucky bamboos in their tanks and are fully submerge. I want to know if they're completely fine fully submerged?

I don't think they can photosynthesize under water. so they won't last long at all fully submerged.

I've been keeping Lucky Bamboo in tanks for several years (though not submerged). Fry love the root balls. I also did a little experiement with two 29 Gal tanks stocked, filtered, the exact same way. The tank with bamboo (only 5 stalks, in the HOB filter) had slightly lower nitrates than the one without.

I've tried keeping it fully submerged as well as left a few that fell over. Every stalk I've ever had fully submerged died shortly after. I've had them last different amounts of time but none lasted (submerged) more than a month, most around a week.

I've heard other people say otherwise, but I suspect they just didn't wait long enough.

ahh okay thanks guys I took them out and put them in my HoB filters my room's always dark so i'm not sure if they will get the proper photosynthesis they need.

Will my room lights be enough?

i've had one piece in a 29 for almost a year now. it is mostly submerged with just some of the leaves sticking out. it seems to be doing ok, but not really showing much growth.
