YOu must have not been in the fish hobby for a while:irked:

u sir, are not very nice.

the fish brings whatever u feel it brings to you. some people it can bring luck

some people it can bring relaxation

some people it can bring a feeling of accomplishment

some people can get the feeling like a natural high from watching such a beauty swim in there aquarium.

Its a lucky fish, thats if you brought the fish from the lfs.. the lfs earns a few hundred to a few thousand per Arowana :P Lucky for him! so.. its a lucky fish :D

Yeah  I am LUCKY to have my silver aro!

It not only gets me out of bed in the morning - it gives my wife and I something to enjoy with our morning coffee!

We used to kick back and watch the news while drinking the coffee

now we enjoy Houdini's breakfast antic's ... he eats his shrimp slices from my fingers!

Which is a lot more entertaining! ... and I get a sense of appreciation from his enjoyment of the food!

... also; it is an Asian or Oriental thing about Luck ... like a favorite snack of the Aro's ... the cricket is supposed to be! :grinno:

Don't know how lucky they are, but they are great fish. Like ethnics said enjoyiy for your own reasons, don't just get one because someone said it would bring you luck. As for being higher priced, well it comes down to the laws of supply and demand.

lets chill out, i dontb think he was trying 2 b mean

Be nice to see you guys post something that actually pertains to this thread:p

well in asia (esp. china/japan) it's considered the "dragon fish" so everything associated with the Asiatic dragon is also associated with all types of aros. Though I think thats a rediculess reason to hike up a price...

yeah, i dont think anyone was trying to be mean...

with regards to aros bringing luck, well i dont really know about that. but for my experience, i guess the "luck" thing comes with you becoming a better person when you devote yourself at something, taking care of magnificent fish. arowanas can do that....

I think you are lucky to be able to develop the skill to raise one to adult size. Keeping a healthy happy aro is an accomplishment all to itself. You can read hundreds of threads about aros stuck to the floor (including 1 from me).
