I recently obtained a white lungfish from Petco that was given to them by a very unhappy person saying that it ate all his expensive fish for about $20.

-That being said Im not sure what kind it is (except that is most likely an African due the aggresiveness)
it doesnt have its fins for some reason making it very difficult to identify since it appears to be luecistic as it is all white with black eyes

-it is also quite slender as compared to most lungs but is definatly a lung.

here is the best pic I can get, will post better ones

could this possibly be a swamp eel? Im pretty sure it is and someone just dropped it off as a "lungfish" to get rid of it.
How much could you get for a leucistic swamp eel?

Alright i've narrowed this guy down to either a malnourished leucitic African Lung or a leucitic Swamp eel

...Sorry in a temporary bucket until tomorrow when I go back home to take care of my tanks, so i cant do a tank shot

this is the clearest I can get till tomorrow

Are leucitics common? What kind of price could this guy fetch??

By the way reason for thinkng it was a lung was because the guy who got rid of it said it was a lung... I thought it was then saw what a swamp eel was

so disregard when I said it was definatly a lung

I don't know a lot about either of them, but that definitely doesn't look like any lungfish I've seen before.

Looks like a swamp eel. I've only heard of one other leucistic variant. Search on Synbranchus marmoratus and check for yourself.

If you're keeping it in a bucket for a while, don't forget a heater. These scaleless eels are prone to fungus and his slime layer had to have been scraped when he was netted at the sale.

Thanks for the help

Whatever it is this thing is a monster...Its about 12 inches long and already eatin about 6 earthworms...from my hand

and i've only had for a couple hours
