so what makes them so hard to breed?

It's the truth. I'm not set up for shipping fish...and for the money I make on what little I sell it's just a pain in the ***. If you are going to the convention, I will have these, Hondo Managuense, Synspilum, RIo Blanco Motaguense, Breidohri.

I have no idea. I haven't had a problem with it. I think they are seasonal breeders. Especially the wild fish. Future generations of tank bred fish may start to cross the line and breed more often. But natural spawning periods for Labridens in Feb - April.
