Then I think it's a gamble.

Ok. Well, I did originally just concoct the plan with a SAL and an AUL in mind. Also, the aquarium is to be planted quite a bit. Stocking will be sizeable, just not as much as yours.

A big gamble or a relatively small one?

Back in 2005 when I only have 10 bichirs. I lost 3x 8" senegal bichir to a 18" west african lungfish. I sold that lungfish. Now that I do JDM tank I never lost even a single one. Even my 8" albino sene is still not being harm.

Forget plants as the aussie lungfish will just eat them or just dug them up.

The SAL will harrass the AUL if the SAL is much bigger. Also no one imported/exported SAL and AUL yet to the Philippines especially Cebu. I hardly seen lungfish there even for a common WAL. You may need to do a group buy for the AUL as there are 5 min order.

We talked about this lungfish stocking before back in 2008 if I can remember right in AP.

Well thank you for the further input. Will reconsider some of my stocking options again. Thanks for reminding me.

As a side note, I do recall seeing a lungfish for sale in one petstore in Cebu. PRoblem was, it was hard for me to ID whether I was looking at an African or SA Lung, though I would believe it may have been an SA Lung. Fish was sold a few months ago and I didn't take any pics.
