hello everybody im new too lungfish and im interested in getting 1 and uh what do they eat? and what is the min tank size i need? and are bichirs, arowana, gars, datnoid good tankmates for the lungfish?tempature?pH?

South American Lungfish and Australian lungfish can be keep with tank mates. All African lungfish are super aggressive and they especially hates other bottom dwelling primitive fish. So stay away from any African lungfish. South American can be aggressive too, so they are hit and miss. Australian are the most peaceful to other fish but not to it's own kind especially juveniles. As they grow they become even more peaceful and you can even keep more than one Australian lungfish.

100g would be the min tank for the South American and you need a bigger tank for the Australian as they are very bulky fish.

what do they eat?

sinking pllets? like massivores, and how bout mealworms?

hikari massivevore pellets, sinking algae wafers, shrimp, smelt and fish fillets,Garden and aquatic snails,Earthworms, vegetable matter
its rather uncertain if they eat actual plants or ingest the vegetable matter via eating snails but it seems to help in preventing lateral line problems-Anne

no mealworms? b/c all my fish eats it and i dont wanna buy new food just b/c of 1 fish
