Lungfish with tankmates?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
its at my lfs, they've had it for over 2 years, and i can help out but i can't really make any guarantee's on anything. you'd have to ship me a box with everything inside for the shipping, including bag, heat packs, styro foam box, all news paper necessary and the money for the fish and money to ship it back. i'd love to see it go to a good home, i'd love to keep it myself, but i just dont have anywhere to put it.

How about finding out what the store will take for the fish - you can PM me and we can figure this thing out. He sounds wonderful. Thanks a lot

I've kept marble lungfish (~20") for about 10 months with a common Pleco L001 (~ 8"). They seem to live quite okay and don't bother each that much. ;)

although this conversation seems to be going in a different direction, as jason had mentioned (and referring back to the original post subject) :

lungfishes and tankmates:

SAL & AUL can be kept with most other fishes that cannot be swallowed whole, although keep in mind these are generalizations and there are exceptions since the individual fish must be considered.

Africans should not be kept with tankmates as they are quite unpredictable and can turn on tankmates either right away or after years of peaceful coexistence. all it takes is one bite and this can prove fatal for the tankmate.--
