some where over the rainbow
just got my fist lungfish, he is brown with black spots. going to look up what it is later, and will try and post pics later. he is abbout 10 inchs and has a face only a mother and me could love... by the way, his name is Earl, if anyone needs to know.

did some research and as far as i can tell, it is a protopterus dolloi. and he is about 14inchs not 10... anyone got any pics they can post of the dolloi to compare? the ones on google arnt good. but he looks just like the one in axelrods atlas of freshwater fish.

If it is brown with black spots it is probably an annectens. Keep in mind african lungfish will not tolerate tankmates even though there are rare cases of some that will like mine but dont be suprised if something gets killed by it. Does it look like this?

i have a 16 or so inch (i think) long dolli and he's about as big around as a quarter. They arent kidding when they call them slender, there is a VERY noticeable difference in build between the two species.

I havent tried tank mates with my dolli, the previous owner had some small fast fish with hit but i dont feel like killing small fast fish yet.

Cute as a bug either way. Great fish all around and hardy as anything out there.

Jason

PS nice looking fish Jox :D
