my friend successfully kept a lungfish for years in a planted tank but if i remember rightly, they were all tied to bogwood, never ate the plants, i'll ask him what plants he had, it was just the LF and a common pleco in the tank..

i did keep an african lungfish with plants for many years, like my friend said they were all tied to bogwood - anubias, java fern - anything else got uprooted - while he was small (less than 10 inches) he was in a heavily planted tank and lookked really good in there. his head popping out of a group of plants looked sweet. as soon as he put on girth he would decimate anything planted!
