I have heard of one that was regularly cacooned for summer vacations. Tank was filled 2/3 full of silt and mud, filter turned off, heater turned off but incandesant lights aimed at tank and tank lid left up. once the lunger burrowed in left over water was siphoned off anr tank lid removed completely, the tank sat in a window at WSU. My brother told me about it.
