So I'm getting some mixed information on them from my research. I've heard they are one of the smaller and more docile of their genus and so logically I'd assume as a wet pet they'd want a 90+. On the flip side I've heard they're still super nasty and very chunky and a 125 may not be enough. So which is it? Or is it just one of those, every fish is an individual and Lyonsi are a little more hit or miss?

My male had a lot of attitude great glass banger, but wouldn't bother with tank mates he didn't think challenged him ( grow out a lot of juvies in his tank) could be very hard on the female though. Got to about 11 inch very chuncky. One of the best fish I ever owned.

125 would be plenty, mite get away with a 90 if the female has enough cover

I'm very interested in one when I get my 125 and some room clears out... Atm even once I get the 125 I'm not planning on adding any cichlids. My JD, EBJD and bleekeri should be plenty and I'm thinking about trying some dither. Maybe when it's just one of them left I'll consider it.

They can get to 12 inches.
Awesome pair mate, def some super impressive fish I love em. Love how you got the tank set up too with plenty of cover for the lady friend, also love how they've managed to not murder they're son either. Awesome stuff
They're not my pair. I wish they were. I forgot to add a comment when I posted the link. Sorry for the confusion.
Look up guapotemel on YouTube. He has some amazing videos, and fish. I posted the video to try and help the OP. He has some good information about them in the video.

I havent kept one over 4", but I cant imagine a 125 not being enough for just the one and the fish you currently have. As a matter of fact, I would probably worry about the Lysoni getting picked on after being added since the others will be established in the tank before him.

All bets are off once all of them reach their adult size. ;-)
