Maculicauda and Synspilum Pics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry for the crappy pics. The tank lighting in this tank is low and makes it extremely difficult to get clear bright shots. If I turn up the exposure it just make the fish look white. even with my Nikon D100 it still makes things white.

nice colours in that syn lookin like a female, blackbelts lookin nice too, takes so damn long to get nice red on their face, im giving 2 males away today both over 8 inches, bought 3 with plans to keep the best (whose colour is really starting to come though), have you got any pics of the other tankmates?

Yes but they are the crappiest pics you'll ever see. As i told you it is Extremely hard to take pics of fish in this tank.

Thanks for your comment.

try increasing the shutter speed and borrow a light strip from another tank.

I can't get the shutter speed any faster and I will get some more high output lights on it.

Duh I am an Idiot. I forgot you can take light strips off lol.

that syns is really coloured up.
esp. the fins.

how is the black belts aggression?
is it intense at all?

A shutter speed of 1/25 should be fast enough to freeze some of the action while allowing the color to soak up. I was just messing with my D80 and no flash and some pretty decent shots at 1/25s, ISO 800 and with the Aperture as wide as the lens allowed (f3.5). That works with my lighting.
1/50s, ISO 1000 and widest apperture yielded even more solid pictures of fish under the lighting strip. I'm not sure how well the D100 performs however. i've heard it was/is a great camera.
