I would try and find out how to get rid of the parasite other than that your fish is just a baby, he'll definately grow out of it and forget he was ever a sissy. Anyhow, hope your fish is doing better. Just relax, and dont stress the fish.

He's just a baby, before you know it, he'll be a terror. Keep his comfort zone there to build up his confidence, get rid of that parasite, he may not like it, but it's gotta go and once it's gone, he won't remember. He's just a little guy in a big world and he doesn't realize he's suppposed to be a bad a** yet. You'll have your macho man fish in a few weeks. Treasure this time, it will be gone soon.

haha dude i felt the same way. Last month I bought a new baby Jar about the same size as yours and all he did was just lay on the ground unless when I put a guppy in there. I just switched him out of a ten gallon tank to a 30 gallon about a week ago and now he's swimming and eating all over the place. What size tank you have him in?
