Sad to hear that my initial assumption was right, sorry for your loss Rob :(

I'd say give the seller a chance, but if you get a rude reply or none at all, unleash the angry MFK mob!
 
It took a while but I just heard back from the vendor. He's going to make it right, he's going to send me another ATF as soon as his next shipment comes in.

You are not the only one that is afraid to call out a vendor when something goes bad. I've seen one too many of these threads. The buyer will start a thread about the bad transaction that they had then they will let the vendor know about the thread that they started and if they don't get a refund or replacement then they would call them out. I don't find this kind of action helping out the community because it is covering up the shady practice that the vendor has been up to. Normally what happens next the vendor will end up ripping off a bunch of people and then get dropped from mfk.

You missed the update. The vendor is sending me a replacement fish. I didn't want to call him out too early. If he makes it right, which it appears that he will, I have no reason to call him out.

I didn't miss the update. An expensive fish like that should never have been shipped out in such condition without the buyers acknowledgement.

Fair enough. I'm inclined to agree with you on this, but if he makes it right I'm fine with that.
 
I think in a what dat tiger is saying in nut shell is that the fish should have never been shipped the way that it was. It could set a precedence that it's ok as long as no one complains. I hate to say it but I am inclined to think that the only reason it's being rectified is because of your moderator status.
