You have no idea. It's like giving up a a beloved dog. It's about what's best for Max though, not what I want. Between being terrified of taking his big ass across country and the fact that life keeps getting in the way of getting my 510 up and running, I think getting him into a big, local tank is unquestionably the best thing for Max.

You look into sedatives of any sort, Rob? In less than a years time I am going to be in the same position as you, and have no idea how to safely transport a large tiger more than 50 feet. Feel free to PM as not to further derail your thread.
Sorry for the loss of your tatf and your possible sale of Max. IMHO, $1000 is cheap for him.
 
Ahhhhhh! I am so gutted for you :( it was you and max that got me into ATF's in the first place! I really hope you find him a good home or even better he survives the journey.
I have had a lot of luck transporting fish using API stress coat and oxygen tablets.
