I have coated the orange one in 307 lite putty. Tommorow I will coat the other side. The one day of painting then a day of sealing
I tired to mold real corals but it didn't use enough sealant on the original coral and my mold material locked into the coral. I just had to throw the whole thing away
Wish I could find successful directions on molding real coral
Ok so I bought some PVC pipe and some kind of grey pipe that comes already at an angle lol. Coated it all with a thick mixture of polygems 307 epoxy putty and then stamped it with my "failed" silicone coral mold ( which was of a lettuce coral )
So this thing has some good texture to it
I had alot of fun making it as well.
Ill post two pictures even tho they aren't good lol.
Tommorow I will paint it and add more pictures
I'm gonna make several up that look like staghorn corals and see if I can my local fish store to try and sell a few
Looking really good. Are you going to finish with Polygem clear epoxy paint after you color your corals? I understand that's what the major leaguers do....
The thing about the sealer is it amplifies the color underneath lol. Hand painted corals are nicer in appearance than solid polyurethane corals that I've seen. Most corals in the wild are not one solid color
Needs more kinks in it. It's a little to perfectly round.
I'm done painting it. Gotta seal it with epoxy tonight the n in 2 days put it in my tank with seaweed clipped to it so I can watch my tangs eat it
