ive had this happen with me heaps of times, especially with clown loaches, there the kings of hiding!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they can squeeze themselves into spaces that don't even exist. lol
Mine squeeze under this one piece of driftwood where you wouldn't think there would be space for any except my smallest one, yet somehow the 3 or 4 biggest cram themselves in there and you can just see red tails sticking out

I had a baby pleco disappear on me. still haven't found the little sucker! any ideas? he's been gone a while. couldn't have jumped out and i haven't found any signs of his body in the gravel or filters. also lost a texas this way. you think he got eaten?

just some sa/ca cichlids but they weren't much bigger than him. i dont think they ate him because the one i have now doesn't get bothered.
