made the switch to sand (pics)

well i did it, i switched to sand, im gonna go black backround as soon as i have the time,

any guess on the sex of the RD? and the cons?

Female cons get an Orange/Red spot on their bellies, males don't.

The JD looks female.

For my RD, I had to vent it.

thanks, one of the cons has a read spot on "her" belly, i thought the JD was a male.

here is another pic of the JD from before the sand, i always thought him to be a male,, any other opinions?

I think that you are going to have a problem with the sand and the fillter so close to the bottom. i had to take all the sand out of my tank because they keept spiting out the sand into the filter and cloging it.

hmm, i can cut the intakes on the filters to raise them, or bag'em like somone mentioned, with some sort of sizzeline screen, any other option's?

Thats about all you can do, just make sure you do it soon before your filter gets damaged.
