Madtom Catfish

I was feeding today and my madtom stuck his head out to say hey. i was getting worried he had gotten eaten because i havent seen him in a month


Anyone else keep madtoms? please post pics

Sweet little madtom...don't understand why they aren't more popular. They make much better aquarium residents than channel cats do.

I got one, same color. I'd found a gold one but the bigger one ate him.
With my brown one, from the time he was 1" to about 3" I though he'd died cause I never saw him. Wasn't till I took the tank down to move I found a 3" wormy thing and thought "hey! When'd that get in there! ...wait a minute...is that...it is! He's alive!"
They're fugly but cute. Mine likes to sit in a crevice he's dug out under a flat piece of rock with just his mouth and whiskers sticking out. That's about all I see of him.

great little fish! if i had a source for one of these little guys close, i'd most deffinetly fix up a little 10 gallon for him!
