Madtom or just a baby catfish?

I do not agreed with the yellows stay smaller. Here its blacks are usually smaller than yellows in Minnesota yet I've caught both over 15".

I guess it's safe to say that fish size, specific regularity and availability differ between areas of the United States where both fish are found. I'm good with that. Suppose I could go somewhere other than the Potomac or Susquehanna too... that's the two rivers I've caught them in here. Based on how tough the little ones are, a 15" Yellow would be a heck of a fighter. :)

Ha I hope the bigger ones fight, the only way to tell if you've got one here versus a sunfish is that a sunfish will swim with your bobber whereas a bullhead will dunk it....reeling them in is the same for me :P I agree on different sizes in different areas/habitats.
