Mag 18 or Mag 12 for my 180gal HELP NOW PLEASE!!!!

A quiet one 4000 uses 50 watts to pump 1000 GPH (at zero head)
the 6000 uses 140 watts to pump 1500 GPH

Mag 12 uses 110 watts and pumps 1200 GPH
mag 18 uses 145 and pumps 1800

I would use two Q1 4000s

I would use two Q1 4000s

I still believe the mag12 is better quality and more efficient product. The mag12 max head is 15' at 110 watts and at 4' of head has a gph of 1100. The quiet one 6000 has max head of 12.2' at 140 watts and at 4' of head has a gph of approx 1100.

The quiet one is cheaper but uses 30 more watts. In the long run i think the mag12 is a better buy.

I believe a mag 12 would work fine but would be the bare min for a 180G.

I had one in a 135 with a 40G sump and It was just enough ,but my bio load was putting it to it's limit.
