Mag 2400 and 1800

Just got these two pumps in...got a deal on them...but man..they are loud as hell. No matter what I put under the pumps (used externally), felt pads, rubber pads..etc...its still noisy as hell. Sounds like my lawn mower!

I picked up these two pumps to filter my 125G and new TENECOR 240G, pushing the return into a OC 319 and the other thru a Current Chiller/UV.

Now I wish I hadn't picked up these two pumps. Should've gotten a Quiet One 6000/9000. Only reason I didn't pick up a 9000 is that is a 1.5" MPT and can't find any PVC connectors that will reduce it to 1", since I have 1" bulkheads in my DIY W/D (55G) and the returns on the tanks are 3/4" but since the OC 309 and Chiller can accept 1" in I can adapt it to return the water thru the 3/4" returns of the tanks.

Anyone have suggestions ideas where I can get some 1.5" pvc connectors?

I checked AquaticEcoSystems but they don't have a FPT type reducer, forget about HD they never have squat in stock...and Lowes doesn't have any either.
If anyone has some good info, I'd appreciate it...this way I can pick up the Quiet One 9000 pump.

try hd if its not far away form your home, mine has things my lowes does not have and they also have good deals when they acutaly get the thing you need

I'll probably use it for a Pond that I've been "pondering" about...

Yeah HD by me has diddly squat. Actually I went to 3 HD within my area and nothing.
Only option is to use a slip reducer put that into the FPT adapter etc..etc...the crappy thing about it is that'll it force me to put the pump further away from my WD and that'll take up unnecessary space.

you could always go to flex tubing and reduce it that way... also I run a mag 24 and it is quiet... maybe order new impellars off line and try or even put them in the sump and put the rubber pad uder the sump....

Thanks for that link. They got a huge selection of connectors, so because of that I ordered 2 Q1 9000 pumps.

Hey, just wondering if you ever got your 9000's? I just got a Quiet One 9000 since the specs looked so good but it is annoying as heck with a loud buzzing sound. I checked that the impellor wasnt broken and properly seated. After searching reefcentral I found many saying the same thing, so curious what your results were.
