When i do water changes and clean the glass, the brush really freaks out my bichir..

I was wondering would getting a magnetic glass cleaner work better/scare him less? I had a cheap one in my old tank, but it scared the living sh*t out of my jag...

He usually hides during the w/c anyway, but the brush will bump the plants he hides in and freak him out..

So, would a magnetic glass cleaner work better/get all of the algea, and not scare the fish? If so, what brand would you recomend? (My petsmart has 4-5 dif brands, i tired the cheapest, but it didnt work too well...)

I use the Mag Float brand. I have got to the point where I can even get it to turn the corners and not have to pull it back to the surface. Plus if it does get knocked loose it floats to the surface.

My fish dont like it; they hide. But its so quick that they soon forget it even happened.

i use a mag float. The fish eventually get used to it. My male jag will chase it around and try to knock it off the glass

I use one and love it. They were scared at first, as they are with most things, but I leave mine in the top corner of the tank, I think this helped them get used to it. One of my fish claimed it as part of its territory so when I use it the fish trys to move along with it. I have had a problem with the outside handle peice, one corner started to come unglued and it left a bunch of glue streaks I had to scrap off. I now use microfiber cloth between them on the outside, so no more glue streaks and now outside glass gets super polished too.

Hmmm pretty clever idea with the microfiber. I'm going to have to give that a try.

Petsmart has these little ones, they had the best customer reviews... They had APi, which i really like, but apparently they dont clean well, scratch glass, etc etc..
