I've owned three of these filters for the last 5 years and I have not had one single problem out of them. One was on a 75 gallon and I currently have two on my 150 gallon with a FX5 and they are working just fine. Water is crystal clear with the occassional polishing insert.
These are easy to maintain and to clean, especially if you have the quick release connectors. Just shut off the power, close the connectors and lift the canister off of the motor housing and off to cleaning you go.
