I found a 180G glass tank, It has a homeade stand that look pretty good. Comes with 2 magnum 350 canister filters(not enough for me will be building a sump for it) heaters air pumps and a bunch of wood. Im not sure if it has lights and hood or not (no big deal to me ill make covers and use lights i have. Hes askin 400, do you think this is a decent deal for the stuff I would get? how are magnum 350s? would a 40 gallon sump and the magnums be good filtration? input is appreciated.

i personally like mags i run 2 on a 180 and they do great combined its as much flow as a fx5 doesnt hold alot of media but i have got my pretty packed with mech... and bio

buy it

Pretty fair deal I think.

thats a great deal. my friend used the mags. and kept his tank looking clean and clear.

I have to Mags on my 150 along with a FX5. I've filled the mags with ceramic rings and wrapped it in a blue sleeve. They do good, pumps pretty decent, and also they are damn good at polishing if you add the micro cartridge to it.

I'd say go ahead and get it, they are not the worst filters out there

I would buy it. I still run a 15 year old Magnum 350. Those canisters are money man. Even if you want to run a sump, you can sell the Magnums for some good coin. Or keep them and run them as mechanical (using the 10 dollar micron filters) when your vacuming the gravel or for water polishing - the 350's will mech filter like a bat out of hell. hehe

is it bad to run the water polisher all the time? i have 2 emp 400's and just use the mag 350 on my under gravel filter.

72g btw

Id go for it. A sump would just be icing on the cake :)
