I recently aquired a 130 gal setup and it came with a marineland magnum 350 filter. After reassembing the filter I filled the cannister as the instructions stated I plugged it in and turned it on. Nothing... I unplugged it and emptied the cannister, pulled out the impellar and saw that the magnet was warped and damaged. I did some searching pn the web and found several sources to get replacements. Most were $30+ for magnet only. The cheapest one I found was on ebay for $26 buy it now and free shipping. I have not ordered it yet because I wanted to check on here if anyone knows where I might find one cheaper. Also was wondering if this model is sufficient to filter a 130 gallon. I was contemplating building a wet/dry system for this setup. I only have 2 fish in it now but will eventually be a community of 4 or so med. to large cichlids. I am filtering with a H.O.T., a whisper h.o.b., and a large powerhead w/spongefilter attacment which keeps the water very clear, but I want to use them to setup other tanks. Thanks for any help!

I have a 75 gallon I could use it on so I may just replace it. No point throwing it away or spending $60-80 on a new one. What size tank are they rated for?

100 gallons but they provide no bio media, look at the other magnum thread titled bio overload its my customized magnum
Yeah, I read that. Looks like you put bioballs on the outside of micron filter right?

Ok. If I get it running I'll definitely add some bio-filtration. Looking like my cannister lid O-ring is bad too. I may scrap it and build a few overflow boxes and wet/dry's. One each for my 130, 90, and 75.

you should just buy a new filter
