I'd say DIY, or buy antoher magnum 350, theyre about the cheapest high flow canister

Totally understandable. A diy wet dry in that case if your a DIYer might yield the best results in your case. Best of luck

I've had my mag 350 running non stop for about 8 years. With a new impellar yours should run for along time. For bio I just put aquarium gravel in the carbon basket w/ the blue filter pad around it, works great.

Nice idea for the sump, the overflow will not work though.

^^ Agree.... Plus one time losing power and then overflowing the tank because it will not keep it's syphon. Crying...........
