U actually need to fill the canister with water and most of the intake line, on top of cleaning the impeller. Then fire it up, it should work if you have all the parts and no air leaks...

The thing just puts out water it wont suck it in i checked the little tube and cleaned the impeller but it wont suck in
any more suggestions?

does the water in the canister exit

yes thats all it does till its empty and it blows out bubbles

usually the exit tube is above the water & the intake tube is in the water try to switch them

it sound like u might need a O-ring for the inside of your lid
