Mahseer horde

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
As they grow, their appetite is only gonna grow and it will be an exponential growth.

Their behavior is much domineering when in groups, they will even attack other fish, by ramming into them at high speeds, and if the victim runs, the attack will only be more vicious.
They are quite disrespectful and insolent in my 4500 gal. VATF can bite them but apparently no one else. Whenever I introduce a new fish in there, they think it's their chewing toy. But only the smaller ones. The 2-footers don't do it.

Great post Jib, I love mahseers. Gotta dmit, I didn't realize they behaved that aggressively though.

That is sad. I didn't think they were aggressive. I recently saw my fav fish store had some blues in stock. Their beauty peaked my interest, but hearing how aggressive they can be has made me change my mind now.

You can always add them to an existing community, once they are established you cannot add others to the comm, unless they can handle the initial curiosity these fish have, if the new fish runs, then it invites more charges

My favorite group of fish. Very nice collection. I wish the rare Indian species weren't so hard to find in the states.

Now there are many blue mahseer, in India there is the tor khudree and the tor malabaricus both get some nice blues.

Then there is the blue mahseer from Thai, tor douronensis and the Neolissochilus stracheyi, both get some lovely blues, also the tor tambroides which is brownish in India and red in Malaysia is blue in Thailand.
I'm vaguely aware of the different species of blue mahseer but I was only referring to the blues that are currently available by way of our vendors.

They are absolutely lovely looking fish.
Stracheyi show some really strong blues, compared to the rest of the blue mahseer. They would be an awesome addition
