looking good! how bout some update pics of bambusa?

The bambusa is only about 6" . Still very small and I'm down to one. I believe the others got eaten (no body to recover). Got lazy buying feeders.

wait r these the red finned barbs that wes sold to u ? thought these weren't exactly mahseers... but cool cyprinid nonetheless!!!

I'm not good at identifying the different fishes. Yes, those are the barbs I got from Wes. They're not mahseers?

masheer is a term previously only used to describe barbs from India of the Tor family. Recently people have applied it to other species from Souther East Asian as well. They're all in the barb, cyprinid family. The ones you have are Spinibarbus denticulatus, the pheonix barb, a rather colorful and rare in the wild barb. Max size is about 24" or so. I've noticed they turn dark green outdoors, I netted one out the other day and comparing it to the ones in the house, completely different color.

Gotcha.
Wes, I'm setting up a new 225g for the (4) kelberis and would love to mix them with a few barbs or mahseers. What do you suggest? I'm going to leave what's outside. Possible remove everything next spring and stock only barbs and mahseers.

the possibilities are endless of course :) I have come to conclusion that masheers turn out much nicer like kois out door with tanning and algae in their diet.

If you want to keep in doors, I think that the true tor putitora is probably one of the best looking ones and rarer ones, behind the elusive red tor soro from Malaysia which seems unobtainable. Of course there are other barbs out there still that are neat, its more about being able to find them. I'll keep you in mind as to what I get in.

Awesome pond Ken! The masheers look great! 72 degree water....Hah! Its been partially snow/rain here. Another reason I cant have a pond where Im at now. Keep them pics coming.
