Nope, the black shark never shows any interest in eating anything other than what is meant to be food. The Labeo barbatus that is also in there was smaller than the rainbows when it first went in there. No problems on that score. However, the red tailed chalceus did eat a few rainbows

I got them from Maidenhead Aquatics in Derby. They have had them for quite a while but always refused to sell them due to their "Big Fish" policy. I think my persistence (and their need for the tank space) won through in the end

She is just under 10 years old. Had her from a couple of inches. I would expect yours to grow quite quick to 7 or 8 inches. I would make sure it is definately getting a good share of the food
