Major Life Decision

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah thats what Im feeling too, safety first. I can safely say that the retail will be better paying. And plus side I'll get more adequate training. But damn, that insurance company is so great and very difficult to get into without much experience. I can't help but think to myself "what if I had taken the internship..." I only wish I did the insurance company internship when I was in my younger school years.

Which pays more and is more secure ? Life may not always be about money but one day you'll have a wife and kids and yes money does play a major role.

Which job pays more in the end? I have learned over the years that it is tough it to make more money (mind you a different field of work) because in the end it's all about being happy getting the job you want and obviously about having more money in your pocket.
Personally I would work my butt off and take the gamble

What chain do you currently work for?

lol, Im one of the major big 2

Let me get a set of those keys haha

lol, no need. all the laxatives are over the counter.

pays more and more secure is hands down retail. But damn the job is so stressful that the lifespan of a retail pharmacist is short

retail, Ive been told to work in retail when Im still young and bank as much as possible then jump ship. but then when I jump ship I'll be so stagnant in terms of my resume and be very difficult to jump into another field

Go where the money is. It sounds really bad but it's a money driven world and it's alot more comfortable to cry in Mercedes then on a pedal bike

From the OP description, it doesn't sound like like its a major pay cut, just less. I've heard retail pharmacy has a very high burn out rate. If these are the cases, I would go with better hours and low stress. Your family and health will thank you in the long run.

Hard decisions. I have always chosen jobs based on security, hours, and what I enjoy doing vs $. But sometimes I look back and think did I make the right choice?

In the end you are going to have many years ahead of you for on the job training. 2 monthes is still only 2 monthes. Years go by in any position and you will still not know everything. It takes a lot of OJT to get there. I'd probably take the internship as long as there are some senior pharmacists to learn from. You don't want to go it alone in the medical field so early.
