Major tail damage will this grow back??

I would let it heal first for 6 months then cut where needed

It's to soon to cut now give it time then you will see what parts need cutting

I saw that video it's not the tail surgery I am worried about that easy it's the damage to the bottom of the tail it's pretty deep that's what I am worried about
 
Looks like some flesh is ripped off....but also looks like 2 rays are still there to generate new fin growth.

Within a few weeks you will notice a big difference and be able to gauge more accurately what to do.. Fins grow back incredibly fast on these guys.

Amazing job man I would tackle that later after I access the damage I don't think they have a big enough bite to break bone just constant nipping damaged the flesh badly i will do a weekly update on the tail for you guys to see
