basically i changed the subtrate like i was suggested.

Watch your humidity.

Nothing wrong with aspen, but it is notorious for sucking the humidity out of the air.

BUT, good change, and DEFINETLY make sure you keep that humidity up.

nah that's cool. I use pizza boxes and cereal boxes etc etc all the time. Doesn't look too pretty but they're great disposable hides.
