I want the tank to be 4' long, 3' wide, 15" high. How much would that amount of glass be. I used a online chart and found out it needs 6 mm glass for that higth. Also what sealent should I use thats safe for SW?

Thank you in advance!

for what type of sharks, may I ask??

Its for a coral catshark and a cortez stingray.

I think it is a bit on the small side.. but more shark guys will have better opinions, I am sure...

i would make the tank out of plywood and just glass the fron saves some money

that isnt a very big tank. If you are seriously considering sharks and rays, especially both, i think a tank more along the lines of 8 feet long ,4 feet wide, and 2 feet deep is more realistic. Catsharks can get at least three feet long. Putting them in a 4x3 foot tank would be like keeping a human in a 7 foot by 6 foot cell. I know i wouldnt be happy

I would like to do that, but how does water not rot the wood?

These sharks get 18 " long and the ray get 9 ". I have done hours of research and if the shark gets too large in a few years I will make a pond for it.

aah, this is a permanent home.
the coral cat will get larger than 18". plan for 24". not sure about the disc size of a cortez, but that tank is still too small. 4' is not long enough, try 6' or more. and definitely go taller. like 24" tall. good to see you're going at least 36" wide. what's the planned filtration?
i have to ask. hours of research [which isnt a whole lot] and you found these dimensions to be adequate? they sound even worse than what scott michael prescribes.
