hey guys i just bought a 180g acrylic...my problem now is a stand. i was thinking of making one out of 2 by 4's. does anyone have advice or experience in doing this? i dont wanna make a stand that may not hold up. so anyone have designs or anything like that will be very helpful...thanks for the help

Search the DIY section. There are endless amounts of threads about making stands.

One piece of advice you should know is with an acrylic tank make sure that the entire bottom of the tank is supported. With glass tanks you can get away with supporting just the frame of the tank with an open top stand but the acrylic should have a sheet of plywood or a board of some kind distributing the weight of the flat bottomed acrylic.good luck

What bad reverend said. Also check out the DIY section theres a sticky there you will like.

would the stand be ok if the tank is hanging over the edges a few inches? i have a table thats is 5 ft by 25 in u think it would work?

At the tanks first fillup it would probably break- and your 180 is 6' so the 5' table definetly will not work

the tank would break or the table? i really dont see y it would break if i put supports oon the table. does it really matter that a few inches of the tank hang over?

The tank will definitely break- I dont know if the table will break too youll have to check with )v(onster Table Keepers. Yes it matters if the tank hangs over the table- the tank will break
