Feeder Fish

Hello. I am new here and I hope this is the right place for this post.
I have 2 Yellow Bellied Slider turtles in a tank with 3 Cory Cats, an Albino Bristle Nose Pleco named Waldo and 2 goldfish that were feeder fish but the turtles allowed them to live. Now they are too big, so I am sending them up to the pond at the country house in May.
I want to make an above the tank basking area for the turtles, Einstein and Sherlock. They are in a 55 gal breeder and it's becoming too small for them. I can take the big basking dock out of the tank this way. I have almost everything I need but I would like to put some artificial grass down on the bottom. The problem is that the girls will start pulling out the grass and eating it. They eat everything. I saw this on a post here from 2009 while I was browsing. The thread is still there.
This seems to be artificial grass but it looks like it is woven through the plastic mat on the back. I can't find this anywhere and it looks like it will be perfect for what I want to do. I could also use this as the ramp for them to get out of the water and up to bask.

This is the link. The pic is on pg. 4 but I will post it here.

If anyone knows where I can buy this please let me know.

Thanks :)

Screw that, do this:

Don't worry about the link being in a different language, look at the second picture on that page. The one with the divided tank. Go to glasscages.com and get some glass from there, it's the cheapest you'll find it. Might run around $400 for everything you need.

Or do a 300 gallon stock tank, and build some plywood up around it. Fill in the section between the plywood and stock tank with dirt, rocks, plants, whatever as your basking spot.

Thanks for your response but that is waaay out of my price range and I have no room for something that big. I live in an apartment, not a house. I am going to have enuf trouble finding room for a 90 gal which is the next size up for me. After that, I don't know.

Ah, I see. A 150 gallon stock tank wouldn't be that expensive, especially used. It wouldn't take up a ton of space either, just a bit wider than the 90. If $400 is out of your budget, I doubt you'll be able to set up a 90 without cutting it EXTERMELY close. You could do it though, plenty of people have :)

To me that grass looks very similar to golf mats used at a driving range. Here is a link to one, keep in mind these are not designed for aquarium use, so if you do decide to purchase one it would be at your own risk.

I don't have the room for the bigger tank yet. I have to do some re-arranging and get rid of something before I can do that. But I will check the measurements out on the bigger tanks before I get a new one.
