hello ladies and gents...amoungst the many tanks i currently have, i got hold of a STEAL for a 50 gallon aquarium 36x18 now... would i be able to to replace a 30 gallon 36x12 with the 50.. see the length is fine its the width, so real question.. could i possibly widen my current wood stand to support the tank and if so how? i know anythings possible but what ideas do you guys have...

Thanks,

takes pics of it of your stand. so we know what we know what you are dealing with.

you can either just build an extension, or just build a new stand

Cut a peice of 36" x 18" 3/4" plywood (stain it if you want) and center it on the current stand then put the new tank up there. That's what I did going from a 30 g Long tank to a 45 g (36"x18"x16) with the same stand. I'm not responsible if it doesn't hold though lol

lol yea awseom idea but.. i need it to hold lmao... big part about it

Hmmm....ya want it to hold, too, huh? ;)
Seriously though-mine held that way for....18 mo or so until I moved the tank upstairs. It felt real solid. What does everyone think?

cmon DIY guys where are you lol my carpenters on a mission

Do that.
It's hard to offer solutions to your current stand without seeing what you currently have.

Here ya go...
