Evening all. I seem to be having issues with my Mala. Recently he has become agitated by his own reflection and seems to spend time attacknig the glass. Now this wasn't a problem until 2 days ago when he apparently stopped eating. The last thing i know he ate were some small cubes of raw Salmon (really REALLY good stuff). The day after he wouldn't touch the prawns he usually has so i left him with a little at the bottom of the tank but if it's been there too long he won't touch it. After this i got him a few feeder shrimp that he seemed less than interested in. he may of had one or 2 but there were so many left dead at the end it concerned me as it didn't look like he ate any. So today i thought i'd try him on some lance fish and he hasn't touche that. Usually he is sat at the glass begging for food. The last few days he has been far to interested in his own reflection. I might move one of the larger plants to that end of the tank to try and obscure his view but it is very odd. he is usually an agressive feeder and i need to be careful even droppnig food in the tank. I've checked all water parameters. Ammonia is 0, Nitrite is 0 and nitrate is barley registering.

Just to be sure i did a water change (30-40%) on top of the regular 25% i did on sunday and removed all waste food from the tank so he is in the cleanest possible tank and have turned off the light in the hope he will feed. So far he has continued moving agressivly arround the tank with the odd splash... I'm worried it's an internal parasite but does anyone else have any suggestions? Could he have simply gorged himself and is no longer hungry? Was giving him Salmon bad idea? It was incredibly fresh and sushi quality but maybe it was not suitable for him? could it be i've spoiled him too much and now he won't accept anything less?

:nilly:

salmons kinda fatty.
maybe that couldve caused something.
other than that i have no idea.
but ive heard of and seen them go without eating for days for no reason at all.

i may be worrying about nothing but he seemed absolutely fine then all of a sudden he stopped feeding.

hmmm...

cheers.

give him some time and see what happens.

i wouldn't recommend feeding salmon. any white fish like tilapia would be better. wolves can go a while with out feeding especially when they get bigger. how big is your mala? i wouldn't worry about it but just keep an eye on him like you've been doing.

Whats a mala????

Ok thanks guys.
