Has anyone done the above combination before ?

I currently have a Mala wolf roughly 6.5 inches in a 3 by 2 ft tank.
was wondering if I could add in a rainbow wolf or black wolf or possibly both roughly the same size as the current mala wolf.

The current tankmates are an armatus, a gatf, and two very fat talking catfish. so far I've never seen the mala wolf acting aggressively to any of em.

Has anyone tried it before ? thanks.

Don't add the rainbow. Will eventually become a meal. Can add a black wolf or another mala. Watch out for aggression from the curu.

The curu would be fine. Just watch for aggression because it varies between specimens. The ery, I beIieve you can do it if the fish is thick enough. Nonetheless I wouldn't attempt it if the ery isn't a thick 6 inches. Because their growth is slower compared to malas and curus. Which can fit a very similar sized meal in them. But with those tank mates the ery is gonna be gone eventually. Probably the armatus would be the one to take his life.

Hopefully that's a growout tank?
I didn't even notice that, yea I'd assumes so, the only fish he'd be able to keep in there is the ery. A mala and curu would out grow this tank fast. Let's not count the other stock. This tank is at its max I'd say. But one is to assume someone buying such fish, which aren't the cheapest, would have the money and knowledge to buy a larger tank soon.

Hopefully you can get a helmet on all three wolves. I tried a pair of blacks, a month later and at random one was dead with bad gashes. Tried a trio of rainbows... over night or 12hrs later I only had one.

mixing wolfs is possible. like everyone said. its the personailty of the wolf. I have mala sp's with reds purple, and also gold. right now my curu is the only wolf in my big community. once my lacerdae gets size. its going in!

It comes down to specific specimens and their environment which influences certain behaviors.

The rainbow wolfs are the weakest fishes I've ever had. I tried twice, both were chased to hell by EVERY fish in my tank. This species need to be kept alone IMO

They do better with fish the same size or slightly bigger. Very aggressive fish will be an issue. Don't need to be a solo fish. You gotta carefully choose the right tankmates. Sorry it didn't work out for u!
