The only thing for u quason is eventually when ur Aimara gets bigger despite being well fed and having a large tank may not be enough. Ur future plans will affect this as well. The curu will/may become a meal/statistic/victim.
I disagree if the size difference isn't crazy, like a 2ft+ aimara with a 12inch curu then obviously the curu can be a potential meal. For one curus are generally thick when compared to other species, it's even noticeable with his in comparison to his aimara. Curus can grow fairly large as well. If one were to keep there curu long enough I wouldn't doubt it ending up 20 inches+. Aimaras growth rates don't seem to fast. Allowing the curu to keep up some. The aimara will likely outgrow it ever so slightly over time, but not to the point where a meal will be made out of the curu imo. Also, wolves are intelligent. They learn the difference between tankmates and meals ime. I've always found, no matter the size, if a fish is there before the wolf I add, it won't get eaten. Idk if this is just with me, but this is with all the wolves I've kept. Only one I had a problem with was the curu, and that was probably my fault as I was moving fish quite a bit then. But even so I never moved the senegal bichir and he can eat him right now if he wanted, he can probably eat everyone except the odoe. But he doesn't. As for aggression, my curu is always the aggressor between the two I have. But it's always a quick flare and maybe a charge from time to time. I can see that comm working out fine though, look at DB, he's got Lucy and his big aimara with the australis that's what 10-12 inches? And Lucy is 18-20 inches with the aimara not far behind. The only thing for u quason is eventually when ur Aimara gets bigger despite being well fed and having a large tank may not be enough. Only time will tell, lol. I have to disagree with the Aimara having to be solitary in aquaria. I think we have a couple of guys that have proven that they can be kept over 2 feet and still have tankmates. I guess it really does boil down to the environment and temperament of these magnificent monsters. The only thing for u quason is eventually when ur Aimara gets bigger despite being well fed and having a large tank may not be enough. I get you now.I mean that size will be ok and tolerated and the same. However, once an Aimara gets a certain size I think it'll not tolerate another wolf.
There's a reason why Aimara are usually found by themselves. I believe once they get into an area and find a food source it will remove or drive out other competitors. There are no other wolves species to be found when these guys are in the area.
So hence the eventually and may/will in my post. It'll be a while to see but wonder will it happen.
Only JL. And that other guy that hasn't updated in forever though his was in a 15000gOnly time will tell, lol. I have to disagree with the Aimara having to be solitary in aquaria. If I'm not mistaken, there's another guy that has an Aimara and Armatus in a 600 gallon tank also.I get you now.

He doesn't know how big it is, he said 30inches plus then went down to 2ft and I believe he said something a inch or two smaller again, that's why I didn't mention him, but who cares about measurements once it's in your tank lol,If I'm not mistaken, there's another guy that has an Aimara and Armatus in a 600 gallon tank also.
