As the title states here are some pictures of my Malawi eyeliner that started to show some nice color. He is starting to try and mate with some of the females in the tank. I love hybrids I have some baby's that have crazy markings I can't wait for them to grow up. I had a rusty cichlid breed with a peacock I think, and I can't even describe the color of that baby. And it's a baby can you imagine when it is an adult. Dont mind the water just turned the wave makes on and it Stirred up some stuff.

It does look a little different to your normal Dimidiochromis Compressiceps. Maybe its just the camera though, I have kept and bred these chaps before but I am by no means an African Cichlid export.

Still, it looks like a very happy and heathy fish! Keep up the good work and keep us updated!

It is a hybrid. None of the Dimidiochromis show yellow in the fins. The body looks too massive too.
My fish dose not have yellow in the fins. Also too massive? They grow to 10-11 inches this one is only about 6'' and it is not that wide, I have peacocks that are wider it might be 1/2 wide maybe 9/16th.

You can also call it orange. But no matter if orange or yellow the colored seem in the fin is too broad.

He is displaying and trying to mate. We can agree to disagree because every picture I see online looks almost identical to the fish in front of me.
