Malawi Eyebiter?

Hi everyone? I'm new in MFK. I saw a Malawi eyebiter in my LFS selling for $3. Can anyone tell me anything about this cichlid? What are the set-up requirements? Tnx!

I had one for a while, they get about 10". The like the basic water (ph is high like 8-9). The scientific name is dimidichromis compressiceps. You should put a post up in the african cichlid section because that's what they are. You would get a lot more info and help.

I think all Malawi "bite". They should be given to our C/A's as feeders. hahaha

they are very slow growers, idk about 10" but i think they get about 6-7inches
