Malawis vs. Tanganyikans which should I keep?

ive only kept fronts and tropheus moorii and duboisi... mainly ca/sa and oddballs for mr know. malawi bore me too, sorry malawi guys! the tropheus where great full of character compaired to malawi imo, brichardi interest me too... do what you want, i'd put a tilapia buttikoferii in a 180 as a wet pet probably but thats me!

I would agree with Tangs. I kept a lot of different fish from malawi but they never kept my interest or got annoying due to tank aggression never balancing out (other than breeding peacocks), so I moved on to tangs instead. Love them much better, cool fish, a lot of colors, variety, sizes, better attitudes imo and just more enjoyable to me to keep.
 
I've kept Africans for years and 90 percent were tangs and by far if I ever go back to Africans all will be tangs I vote tangs so cool looking and graceful

i love my tangs more. They are more aggressive but prettier and their persionallities are wider. Pluse with tangs the reaction i get are "Those are killer lookin" with mbuna i get those are cool. To each their own i guess. Love my tang's though.
 
To me malawis are beginner africans! I started with them and I did love having them but now I have a tang set up with moori, moliro, frontosia and brichardi as I feel I am a better fish keeper now. I did the same going from severums to discus! Oh and jack dempseys to big red on the left!
