my aro is pretty mellow. I have a blood parrot and a bichir. i think the blood parrot is the dominate one in the tank. she laid eggs once and won't hesitate to "flare" up against the aro even though mine is 4 times it's size. she doesn't bite the aro but have attacked the bichir and my hand before lol. it could be different with yours though. i know when i first bought the bichir my aro was a bit agressive towards it. him being the only other tankmate at the time. i honestly want to try discus one day knowing the temperament of my aro.
i have my hiback gold with 5 geos (red head tapajos)...they don't bother each other and are perfect tank mates...the geos stay at the bottom most of the time so it helps balance out the tank also..
