In my 125 gallon planted community tank, the population of Malaysian trumpet snails has gotten too high for my liking. Are there any fish that eat these snails? If so, which ones? The other fish in the tank include angelfish, rasboras, boesmani rainbowfish congo tetras, brichardi and rainbow cichlids.

i have looked at loaches, and am considering them, but i would rather not add another school of fish to the tank. Are there any solitary or pair fish that would eat them?

well you've got a 125 so why not buy like 3-4 and in a couple months i'm sure they will have taken care of your prob and the loaches will be fat!!! i'm sure some one will buy them after you're done using them as exterminators ahha.......i don't think yoyo loaches have to be in schools........i know clowns prefer it. they will do a better job than most anything and no chems!!!!

i would, but i didnt mention that i also have a bunch of other bottom dwellers. It is already crowded down there. I was looking at pufferfish, but i am unsure if there are any that can thrive in pure freshwater and be compatible with my current fish.

As far as I understand, all puffers in the trade are brackish. If you don't have room for loaches can you just pull out the snails as you see them? Put a veggie in there overnight and pull it out in the morning. It'll be covered with snails. Also, I'm sure there are members on here who'd be willing to pay for some MTS.

Not all puffers are brackish. There are a few that are pure FW.

Not compatible with any of your fish.

I agree, try yo-yo or clown loaches.
