Hi all. Well he is still with us this morning. Not moved from the same spot but is not fitting as much and looks slightly more comfortable. So who knows? We may have a happy ending to this drama yet?
On a positive note, when i went to check on him i came across 4 very healthy Hybrid pups born in the night!! All around 5" and looking sweet! Moved them to a floating box quick and came to work. I was way off on my estimation for birth date by about 3 weeks and had not divided the pregnant females yet, so i was lucky the pups were o.k.
I was going to divide the pregnant females this weekend but may have to divide the male now if he is still with us tonight. Nothing is going near him, it's like all the other rays in the tank know something is wrong and are leaving him alone.
No i will not move him, i only have the one tank anyway. I have been going over and over in my head about catching him for a closer inspection but i am worried it will finish him off. I will probably put a divider in tonight if he is still alive by then. I am hoping if he is still alive on day 3 then he has some kind of chance. I thought at one point last night he was starting to curl so had just about given up. Lets see what tonight brings.Congrats on the healthy hybrid pups.
When u say u going to divide the male.. are u going to move him? Hope its not going to have any negative effect.
Wishing him speedy recovery.. he is truly a beautiful piece.
Thanks Richard. No one more tense than me i can assure you! But knowing other people are out there wishing the ray a speedy recovery is extremeley reasuring trust me. It's amazing how others show interest and send their regards and wishes in times of trouble, very very nice indeed.Congrats on the new pups Jim, they will help to take your mind off this current nightmare with the male. Hey he is still here, got to be a good thing, the paralyses could be subsiding, the fact he has lifted his disc is encouraging.
A few tense people on here right now willing him to recover.
Thanks Mike, really appreciated mate!Great news this morning then jim, he's still alive and not deteriating plus MORE pups lol! Nice that the male has seen his latest offspring.
Sending positive thoughts for the next 24 hours mate

Thanks Northrebel, he is my fav ray that i have ever owned and has fathered some cracking pups. I will be gutted to lose him. I am at work during the days but kids are home for school holdays, latest update is that he is breathing heavily but not convulsing. I am quietly hopeful that he is actually going to pull through.Hope he pulls through Jim he's a stunning ray.
