i got a couple of shots off my convict, i believe this is a female? am i correct?

does ur convict have a orange blotch on her belly becaus if so then yes its female

no it doesnt, but it has female fins, there been some debate over its sex, thats why i borrowed a friends 20 mpixel cam to try and shoot its "bits" so i can once and for all know.

Easiest way to sex Convicts are the females have orange on their bellies while males do not. I have a slew of Convict fry and as small as a half inch the orange has developed on some. But generally by an 1.5" you should know if it's male or female. Based on your pictures it's male though.

I've had a couple males from my batches of fry have blue in the fins.

Looks male to me, fins are not a definitive way to determine the sex of the fish. My female Convict has long streamers just like my male. The breed tube is small and kind of pointed back just like my male. Cool looking Convict though, pretty unique looking markings on it.
